One of the goals of the conference was to bring together the professionals from all over Hungary whose specific field is the creation of different types of educational apps in both VR and AR. We have presented an educational app called HoloVR, which is a teaching platform aimed directly at VR anatomy education.
Communication with other presenters and exchanging both ideas and experiences about preferred teaching methods and good practices were the scope of the event as well. We had a chance to propagate our needs towards companies potentially creating XR applications for academic use while getting acquainted to their current state of apps and platforms. The general conclusions were that while the companies are trying to adapt models successful aboard, the universities are not willing to adapt said models, especially while the companies are pushing their own, proprietary solutions in a walled-garden fashion. Attending companies seemed open to further communication and seemed reasonably grateful for our suggestions.
